Contagious Creativity

Before deciding on our idea, we had a chance to talk with tutors and we got our issues outlined with both mine and Zoe’s ideas. Since I was trying to take leadership, I ended up writing it down and sending it for all of the team to remember. In the end, we have decided to go with Zoe’s idea as we ended up voting together as a team to figure out which is the majority. For this, we also held a team meeting and decided to plan who does exactly which bit for our degree show pitch which I also wrote down for everyone to keep.

Since I was the one that wants to do website design as one of the things when I graduate, I volunteered to do website bits as well as colours and tone of voice. As we are using bacterial flowers, I wanted to arrows at first for web imagery that is often seen in plant books that direct to different parts of the plant. I also prepared quite a few colour palettes for the team and sent it their way, this was something in my opinion that had to be decided together with the team. This way we were able to give each other feedback at any given time and keep up to date without having to do as many meetings.

We had quite a few discussions throughout about website development, physical space, typography and so on. I also suggested potential new names for the pitch as the one we had didn’t feel like it had a ring to it, but in the end, it was the best one regardless. Additionally, I also tried to see whether the current logo works and my a few versions of mine and this is where we tried to see whether we could find a different typeface to use.

I proposed quite a few versions of the website as well and here I decided I change the flower colours since it didn’t work well with our colour palette and my team has really appreciated the efforts and possible colour options we had.
