Poster Design After Feedback

As I have already wrote about poster design for this semester and how I have made, I have decided to also show the finished work after all the feedback that I have received.

Basically, firstly what I have been told is that the tittle of the folktale story which says “The Daisy” doesn’t communicate nature as much as I have thought it would. So I had been advised to use something that would remind of nature. I have also been told that broken typeface isn’t needed and that Futura typeface shouldn’t be distorted. I have also been advised that this choice of typeface isn’t that sharp when it comes to letter “S”, so I had to look for another typeface. I have been also told that it would be better that the glass would be the actual typeface.

I have thought to use petals of marigold since this is the only thing that I was able to find that would remind somehow of the daisy through it’s colour. When I have improved my poster I have decided to ask for more feedback as I believe it is always better to improve it even more if possible. Since I have shown this poster design, I have been told that kerning where the “I” is a bit off and I have also been advised to spread the petals even more.

When it comes to my very final poster design, I have also decided to use the shattered glass around the letters the same way as the petals. I had to lower the opacity though of such layer since the glass all over the poster would distort the letter shapes and it would look different that it was meant to.

Overall, I have enjoyed making this poster as I have had a chance to use photography and the actual tools that I have found in my house to make letters and petals. The only downside was that I couldn’t make the petals more yellow, since it wasn’t working out with the glass letters. It not only took too much attention away, but also the colours didn’t looked well at all.
