Patterns In My Work

During first year I had a chance to produce a variety of work and there’s quite a few things I already talked about in my blog, so I have decided to look at the patterns of it.

The first thing I have noticed is that I like to apply photography in my work. One of the main reasons behind it is because I simply love photography. For instance the collages I did, the poster and advertisement campaign I had been doing was mostly based on photographically generated content.

Another pattern that I have noticed is that I prefer to use dark colours mixed with bright colours if it’s legible to the concept. In general I just love using black and as I have already wrote in the post about dark mode option on iPhone I feel like it’s easier to view the content etc. Also I think listening to metal music and liking their logos plays a huge part too. Basically, I just feel like I prefer darker aesthetic or something that is abstract.

I have also noticed that I like glitchy things and psychedelia in general. I haven’t produced such work, I only mostly tried, but it is still something that I consider as an interest, because I know if I will get a chance to use it when the concept is right, I’m sure I will.

From my personal archive.

What I haven’t expected when I have started this course was that my initial idea was to do most of my work digitally, but it turned out that I also like to experiment by producing my work with other tools as well.

I haven’t talked much about coding websites here, simply because I don’t feel like I have learned as much as I have wanted to, but I know this is definitely going to be something that I will be improving on during summer break and not only.

In conclusion, there’s quite a few things that I have noticed with the help of this blog and I’m very grateful I had such an opportunity.
